Biography

My name is Milou Krietemeijer-Dirks from the Netherlands. I am a self taught fine art photographer and i love to express myself and my feelings through this genre.

Hereby I present you an ongoing series I am doing (in nature with natural light) with my dear and precious daughter. The most important theme for us is the search for identity and roots while growing up. But also feelings of loss and grief, the fear of letting go, as well as themes of connection, bonding and motherhood.

Often we create faceless portraits or with a hidden, mysterious identity. We search for those landscapes that express and represent our search in the most explicit way. Sometimes confronting but also comforting.

The second set of photos is an other ongoing series of self-portraits. Going from dark emotions and uncertainty to lighter times and self-confidence.
